  • VT, BC, and Maryland are also in that top five shuffle.
  • Duke can finish no better than fifth and no worse than seventh.

  • Locks: UVa, VT, UNC, BC, Duke, Maryland

Actually, NC can still grab the #1 seed with a win over Duke (pomeroy probability 0.80), a Va loss at Wake (pr=0.31) and a VT loss to Clemson (pr=0.36). It shouldn’t matter what happens to BC. That puts the probability at just under 9 percent. Good luck!

I was wondering when you’d show up. 😉

UVa should be taken to the woodshed if they give away the reg season title by losing to Wake. VT might lose to Clemson, anything is possible there.

Hey – it’s still an ACC road game …

    Wake beat Georgia Tech.

You can’t tell how good anybody is from the standings now that they have eliminated the round robin. For instance, say you only have to play Duke once. They would normally be a positive, right? But let’s say that the one game is at Durham. Now is it more of a positive to only have them once or is it expunged by the factor of having to play them at Cameron. It is impossible to know. I think this is one of the reason’s that Pomeroy and Sagrin have begun to be cited as much as the wire services, because the league standings now mean zero.

Virginia lost to Weak Forest. I am not surprised that a team that had already lost to Miami and App. State and Utah would do so. I don’t think they choked. I think that the are just mediocre.

Not to hijack a tarheel blog, but I wouldn’t use the word mediocre. They defintely aren’t GREAT though. SS is, but not the team. Singletary was injured early in the game and never recovered – great teams can fight through that to beat the last place team for a championship. Good teams with one stud can’t – that’s what happened today.

But if NC, VT, and BC all lose tomorrow … 😉
