UNC 86 Duke 74

My postgame analysis got eaten up by the need to respond to the Hansbrough mugging.

In short the Heels showed up, the played great defense for the most part, and does anyone think Ty Lawson was out to prove something?  He played extremely well despite fouling out and it is as though he was responding the rumors swirling about him after his eight minute benching against Georgia Tech.  Lawson was the engine to this team’s efforts today.  Terry and Hansbrough were maginficent, Wright was very good, and the rest of the team played with a great deal of intensity.  Granted it is the Duke game but we can only hope this game and the bloody nose of Tyler Hansbrough serve as a catalyst for the ACC Tournament and beyond.

It’s too bad it will be lost in the fracas, but congrats to Terry and Ginyard for having their best games of the season! (Ginyards may have been the best as a Tar Heel!)

Yes. Terry and Ginyard played excellent. It will be up to ginyard/frasor/Hansbrough to lead the young men next year. Everybody played well, including our freshmen. Good job guys!

Ginyard did look good. If he had made that trick shot he tried, he would have been about perfect. He even made a nice three. I do like him and his game. Not bad for a DC boy!
