At this point UNC is basically playing for next season and giving the players experience. Considering the importance of finding a running game, I expect Butch Davis will be watching that particular aspect of the offense tomorrow with a attentive eye seeing what kind of work they need to do to improve that part of the offensive scheme. Besides what the team can gain from next season playing the last two games in this one is the motivation to win a game on the road and show some character despite the temptation to go through the motions. If the Heels can steal this one from GT and then beat Duke next week they will end the season on a two game winning streak and build some kind of confidence heading into the offseason training. And since there is really nothing to lose but the game, I would not be surprised to see the play book opened up a little as well as an effort to give the youngest players some reps in live action.
As for Georgia Tech, what do they really play for here? Chan Gailey is as good as toast and the important game where the Jackets are concerned comes next week versus Georgia. This is where good coaching makes a difference but since Gailey is about to be shown the door for failing too often in regards to his coaching it basically falls on the players. At any rate I like the Heels chances here since I think GT will be off their game a bit.
