UNC vs Iona

Where: Dean Smith Center, Chapel Hill, NC
When: Sunday, November 18th, 6:00 PM

Records: UNC 1-0; Iona 0-2

This game is part of the Las Vegas Invitational even though it is being played in Chapel Hill. And yes I think that is generally weird. This game will be about as challenging for UNC as finding positive Duke coverage on ESPN. The Gales were 2-28 last year and 0-2 so far in this one with losses to Robert Morris(who?) and Princeton. In other words, this is going to be ugly on so many levels which may be why it is being shown on ESPNU so no one has to watch it. This will be one of those foundational games intended to develop the offense and defense in live action versus someone not in Division II though the 2-30 record in their last 32 games makes me think some of those D2 schools would win a game versus Iona

This game should serve as a nice bounce back contest for Deon Thompson and Ty Lawson who did not play well against Davidson. Tyler Hansbrough also would love to make a bigger splash than he musted versus Davidson at the expense of Iona.

Should be good revenge for the December 2002 loss to Iona…
