don’t go up with any weak-stuff today. I say Marcus gets at least two flushes! Hanbrough just nailed a 3 for Miss St.
Green has a more subdued dance routine away from home
I always get nervous when we get out to a big lead. I remember the Gonzaga game last year, but I am sure that statistically it is a good thing. Ben’s team is doing well also.
hogs look rattled. keep the pedal down boys.
keep the pedal down boys.
This team is flat out on a mission. I know it is early, but damn,..
Deon looks like a wholly different player–Roy’s gotta be pleased!
Wow…best half of the season and leading a team that beat Tenn eight days ago.
hmm–wonder what kind of dark cloud we can make out of this, lol?
I wonder if Seth Davis still think Tennessee, who should have lost twice, will still beat UNC?
we crushed their spirit in the first minute…..well maybe they did a little of it themselves
I wish Gumbel would give him and Kellog a jab!
This is the best we have looked since the Arizona game last year. Stepheson and Thompson are finally getting it done! I am now watching Ben’s team to see if they can pull the upset over the fine Gentlemen from Memphis….
To paraphrase T.O. “I Love Me Some Tar Heels”
Louisville is going to take care of UT.
DC yanked the Heels’ game ten minutes in. Glad I have the package. 52 all in the Memphis game!
I would rather play UT than Louisville.
But we still have Western State University first…
Anyone know anything about WSU
What a move by lawson
Roy tweaked that defensive carburetor in that TO
Memphis missing free throw after free throw–so much for Calipari’s theory about them making them when they count….
Packer just implied that somebody might “Valvano” them if it’s close.
Dean would’ve been livid with the NCAA over this logo situation.
I’ve got to think that being somewhat dissed in the Natl media is a motivator for this team.
As a lawyer, I predict something will be done asap, lest the NCAA incur major liability. Can you imagine showing that video in a court room if someone get hurt?
Blocking shots like Kevin Love!
what game was it in the last year or so where there was floor-sweating, and a similar dangerous situation? RBC?
Whooooo! Piiiiiiiig! Sooooooey!!
I’m gonna go get me some BBQ! 😉
lol Michael–is this what they refer to as “40 minutes of Hell”?
Why don’t they switch to the other game?
Thompson, Stepheson and Q–major props!!!!
11 assists and 0 turnovers for Lawson this week-end!
Certainly was for Arkansas!
Campbell–Ravenscroft boy is crowd fav!
Arkansas runs the clock out!
I used to hate Raleigh Ravenscroft in soccer!
my HS team beat them one time in a major upset–so unexpected all of their players and cheerleaders were crying afterward.
Can you imagine if we had this kid:
What high school?
OMG–it’s worth noting that Marvin would be a Junior?
i won’t say anything nasty about Arkansas and Hillary, but I will say that now I can clearly see how Appalachian State beat them earlier this year.
didn’t play for him, but we helped lay the foundation. did you play?
Marvin would be a senior like Q….
Yeah it seemed like Myers Park, Page and Sanderson won a lot among the public schools.
Yeah, I played for East Mecklenburg and Charlotte Christian.
Chapel Hill and Asheville Country day were pretty strong when I played too.
what position? I was a left winger.
Roy teeing off big-time on the NCAA right now.
Mostly halfback, but some stopper back and wing….
Curry begged for a scholarship from Seth Greenberg, that basketball genius and was told he could try to walk on….
he’s a cool customer–wish he was playing for us!
Happy NIT, Seth!
I mean I can see Carolina not recruiting him due to his size and their luxuries in recruiting, but VPI? It is Hubert Davis all over again and Smith had the sense to give Walter’s not so talented nephew a scholarship as long as Hubert realized he probably would never play much…. Only in the NBA!
yeah, but you’ve still got to be happy for him–he’s got the last laugh on Seth for sure.
Roy is saying the EXACT right things right now–no surprise there!
This is the Carolina team we have all been waiting to see. Lawson is playing so well you have to wonder if the injury also in the long term reduced the wear on him the regular season ACC can ex act on starters, especially point guards. Thompson was super – that talk with Roy really helped! The bench was strong and Q is playing so well now he could probably start for many other top teams. Washington State will be a test but I think they are vulnerable inside. The twin Lopez brothers of Stanford gave them fits in PAC 10 play. What a great win!
This team looks like they’re on a mission to just absolutely slaughter the competition. I’ve thought all season that the team may have had a third gear that they never got to, and they’re bringing it out and then some now. We may look back at the Georgetown game last year as being the best thing thats happened to us in a while.
If I’m Roy I just go into the locker room before each game and say “Georgetown” and then watch the heels completely destroy teams from anger.
When do we play again? I assume at 9 PM on either Thursday or Friday….
So, UNC and Davidson in the Sweet 16, but not Duke, and Western Kentucky and Louisville in the Sweet 16 but not Kentucky.
How does it feel Kentucky and Duke?
WSU on Thursday night and I would assume the late game.
i like the idea of the third gear. we have seen fairly brief examples of that on both offense and defense during the season and if they play to that i do not believe anyone can stay with us. Does WSU have to fly back and forth from West Coast? Maybe some jet lag?
WSU played in Denver this weekend, so jet lag should really not be an “excuse” This version of UNC today seemed on a mission…and it was happening on both ends in the 1st half. Just an all-out domination. I don’t know much about Washington State but assume they’ve got good guard play & some decent size inside. gotta love the Davidson win…a little payback for UNC fans
If Thompson and Stepheson play like that, nobody can stop Carolina. That was an exact replay of last year’s Arizona game at Arizona.
if anyone knows the schedule please post. i have an important meeting this weekend, but will change if necessary. GO HEELS!
Heels play Thursday night at 7:27pm.
Agreed. And it seemed like whoever subbed in contributed. I have seen WSU play a few times – they play tough defense and have some senior leaders. Their guards are good. Early this season the Cougars were ranked highest in their history (maybe 4 or at least in the top 5). Then they went through a stretch in which they lost a few then did pretty good in the PAC 10 tourney; Stanford knocked them out in the semi-finals I believe.
If they advance to Saturday, I think the game time would be 4:30ish or 7ish, depending on who’s playing in the other regional final and what CBS wants.
Saturday was probably WSU’s first impressive win. Mostly, they have been noted for losing to Arizona, Stanford, California and UCLA. Except for against USC, Gonzaga and Notre Dame, they have no impressive wins. Nevertheless, Pomeroy says they are just as good as Carolina and predicts a Carolina win by 2 points.
A potentia UNC-UL or UNC-UT game with get the primetime spot in the regional finals. I think that has bigger ratings potential than a possible UCLA-WKU vs WVU-Xavier game
